Life Lessons

If there is anything that I have learned thus far in life. It's that no man can be an island. Fortunately or unfortunately for me I have always tried to be one. Life is a lot easier with at least a few good friends, or in this case one best friend. Yes, I do have one of those. Her name is Abbie Bellafatto. Through thick and thin she has always been there for me. Why she is even my friend, let alone my best friend, remains a mystery to me each and every single day. Though nothing on earth makes me any happier then that. I do not get to see her near as often as I would like to, but that is just an unfortunate reality one must accept sometimes. If anyone deserves a thank you for being my friend its her, someone who I sincerely hope, I'll never lose.
Another reality one must face, is that there are times in life when you may just be in a bad mood. You're not really sure why, but for whatever reason, you'd love to know so you can get past it. Right now is one of those times for me. Somethin just isn't right, and i have no idea what it could be.

While for the most part this short blurb has been about absolutely nothing in particular, I guess I'll leave on that note. Good thing no one actually reads this.

Story Time!!

One day you find yourself getting involved with a woman. Things are going great. No matter what she says that she doesn't love her ex Brian anymore. You continue to probe her about this on a relatively frequent basis. Her argument is not helped by the fact that she has a picture of her dancing with him at the Newburg Butter Festival from 2 years ago on her nightstand. Not one of the thousands she has taken of the two of you. One day you decide as a favor you will just put the old picture of her and Brian in her drawer that way neither of you will have to look at it anymore. This of course leads to a huge fight. At some point in the fight you say "But baby I was just doing this as a favor, I love you." Admittedly this was not the best point in your relationship to say this for the first time, true though it may be. She winds up dumping your sorry ass and for 6 months you cry at the very thought of her name. A few weeks after you break up you run into her at the mall with Brian. Realizing you have now pushed them back together and ruined your life you kill yourself like a man and headbutt a sidewalk until you die.

Some Jokes by Comics you Should Know

I bought a seven-dollar pen because I always lose pens and I got sick of not caring.
- Mitch Hedburg

hope the next time I move I get a real easy phone number, something that's real easy to remember. Something like two two two two two two two two. I would say "Sweet." And then people would say, "Mitch, how do I get a hold of you?" I'd say, "Just press two for a while. And when I answer, you will know you have pressed two enough."
-Mitch Hedburg

I think Pringles original intention was to make tennis balls... but on the day the rubber was supposed to show up a truckload of potatoes came. Pringles is a laid-back company, so they just said, "Fuck it, cut em up!"

So I say live and let live. That's my motto. Live and let live. Anyone who can't go along with that, take him outside and shoot the motherfucker. It's a simple philosophy, but it's always worked in our family.
-George Carlin

You know the best thing about necrophilia? You don't have to bring flowers. Yeah... Usually, they're already there.

Some of my god awful puns. Yeah! Puns. Deal with it.

The man at the watch factory was a funny fellow. He stood there all day making faces.

Communism took off in the animal kingdom when a wary wasp joined a cagey bee.

Plane crashes into lumber yard. End result; remarkably smooth.

Nothin Quite Like Making Music with Friends

A few days ago I got the chance to do something which I hadn't been afforded the opportunity to do in quite some time. Play drums with Jake and Swisher. God damn did I ever miss that. For whatever reason playing with Jake is always so much fun. It's almost like magic every time we play together. All it takes is a look from one of us, any look, and we both just know exactly what the other one is gonna do. There is really nothing in the world like it. It's something that can't be competently described only felt.

In other news, its that time of year where everyone heads back off to college again. And let me tell you does that ever suck. I still have some good friends around here no doubt but it just isn't the same. I will see them all again though. Not soon enough. But for now thats how it is, so ok. The German philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein gave this definition of reality: “The world is all that is the case.” Typical of philosophical aphorisms, it is a deep little statement, but it certainly includes the idea that “It is what it is.” I guess idealists (“It’s not what it ought to be”), paranoids (“It’s not what it seems”), cynics (“It is, but not very”), reactionaries (“It’s not what Iwant it to be”), self-deluders (“It’s not my is”), and rationalizers (“It’s not my fault”), would have trouble with that concept.

Nashville

Having just recently returned from Nashville I know that I can say at least one thing with authority. If you are thinking of driving somewhere much further away than there, DON'T. By the time you get there you will be hallucinating and your legs will be gone.

It was so unbelievably cold while we were there it made me re think how I feel about cold weather. I figured in the days leading up to it that hey, its the South therefore it doesn't get cold. Oh how wrong I was about that. There were a few days where it was warmer here in Easton than it was down there. Everyone down there said they couldn't remember any time while they had lived there where it was so cold for more than a day or two. It even snowed while we were there. Granted it was not alot of snow the schools were still closed for three days. The day before it snowed, the day it did, and the day after it snowed.

Other than that it was a pretty awesome trip. The night we got there we didn't have much to do as the person whose place we were staying at was at a hockey game. Ten rows off the ice for free. Absolutely don't blame him for that one. Anyway we walked around a little bit and saw a small bit of the city.

The next day we went and saw what we actually made the trek for. Third Man Records. Jack White's label. Now to get to third man records, you basically walk out of the city into the projects and between two run down houses and some trees is a black building. That's it. It's a very Jack White location. Why bother with nice things? To get into the building even though it was open the doors were locked. We had to ring some sort of doorbell and some nice lady came on and asked why we were there. Jake had no idea what to say and managed to get out we just wanted to see the store. Then the door opened. Once we got inside I was near certain Jake was gonna pass out. Much to my surprise he didn't. Managed to get lots of nice things related to everything John Anthony Gillis does. Pretty sure he bought everything in the store, where as I managed to walk away with only two shirts and a few stickers.

When we asked the ladies there if anyone comes there they said it depends on the day. I am 100% positive that is a lie. But that's ok. We got there and it was like heaven with a side of gold. The ladies there really didn't know anything about the White Stripes or anything. Which was kinda a shame since they have definitely met Jack White and I would pay to work at that store. Jake especially knows more about Jack White than he knows about himself. Guess there is always murder.

After that we just walked around in the tundra for a few hours to go see the Wooten brothers. Unfortunately the show looked 21+ so we couldnt get in. The next day we went and saw some other stuff like the Gibson store and some auto museum. Both were pretty sweet. Then the next day we came home which again took a cruel amount of time.

All in all it was a very good trip seeing as our only real motivation to go down was to see Third Man Records. It was cold but thats ok, separates the men from the boys.

A Collection of Some of my Favorite Quotes

I'm not looking back, but i want to look around me now.

The world weighs on my shoulders
But what am I to do?
You sometimes drive me crazy
But I worry about you
I know it makes no difference
To what you’re going through
But I see the tip of the iceberg
And I worry about you...

"Everything in moderation, with occasional excess."

"No one gets to their heaven without a fight."

"Genius is the fire that lights itself."

If I were not a physicist, I would probably be a musician. I often think in music. I live my daydreams in music. I see my life in terms of music... I do know that I get most joy in life out of my violin.

Falling in love is not at all the most stupid thing that people do — but gravitation cannot be held responsible for it.

The most incomprehensible thing about the world is that it is comprehensible.
